In June 2015, President Xi Jinping visited Guizhou and his first stop was Zunyi. He encourages everyone to remember the Zunyi Conference as an important part of the Communist Party of China history.
The Red Army failed in their battle against the fifth encirclement and suppression campaign, and was forced to embark on the Long March. With heavy casualties, the Red Army wended their way to Guizhou and held the famous Zunyi Conference in 1935, where most comrades rectified the left-leaning errors in military affairs, and proposed that Mao Zedong should take over military command.
Laoyashan Mountain is the site of the battle of Zunyi. And all over the mountain you can see the remnants of war. There are bullet holes in boulders, trenches in the dirt. The Red Army prevailed in what is one of their most important victories since the Long March began.

每個城市有每個城市的歷史。遵義人在用他們各自獨特的角度講述自己的故事。重要的是，歷史被保存了下來，故事才得以傳承。
Every city has a story. As we saw here in Zunyi, every storyteller has a unique perspective. The important thing is that history is preserved, so that stories can continue to be told.
